With thanks to Awards for All we have just completed the second Drama Workshop in association with UCAN Productions.
This time we held the workshop in The The Dance Lab, at Dance City in the centre of Newcastle on Tuesday 27th, Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th July.
The workshop was attended by 12 vision impaired children plus their siblings and after two and half days of fun and hard work the children produced a wonderful, hour long, production to show to their families on Thursday afternoon.
The production included three short stories. Here are some photographs from the workshop:
A scene from a Welsh fable
A scene from The Story of Solomon

With funding from Awards for All we are grateful to UCAN Productions for coming all the way from Cardiff to teach the children; and also to the large number of volunteers who gave their time to help.

....Volunteers play a vital role in the running of Useful Vision. Their involvement helps us to reduce running costs and ensures that most of the funds we raise go on activities and events for our children, young people and families.

Volunteers are needed to help at activities, events and classes during weekends and school holidays. Voluteering with Useful Vision is not a huge commitment and it can be a very rewarding experience. All we ask is your time for 2 or 3 activities a year. For this we offer training and support to volunteer, as well as out of pocket expenses.
