Unique positive opportunities for vision impaired children

Volunteering

It would simply not be possible to run any of our activities without the assistance of volunteers to help out on the day. We run approximately 2 family days a month over weekends, baby and toddler groups and additional workshops and days out over the school holidays. Volunteers can commit to as many or as few activities as they can manage – we always give plenty of notice of up and coming activities.

You don’t need any experience – just lots of enthusiasm and a helpful attitude. All volunteers receive visual impairment and sighted guide training and will need to undergo enhanced DBS  (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks before volunteering at a Useful Vision event.

Volunteering for Useful Vision can be a really rewarding experience and the children and their families really appreciate the effort and commitment made by our wonderful team of volunteers.

What our volunteers have to say

“Since volunteering I have enjoyed every moment. I love being able to help children with a visual impairment and also to chat to the families”
