Useful Vision Summer School 2018
Useful Vision children enjoyed our Summer School from 23-27th June. All children were amazing in the five fun packed days. There were opportunities for them to try singing, dancing, acting, musical instruments and sound effects. While putting together a show to perform at the end of the week to their families.
The show was called Captain Copperstone and the Diamond Fruit and as always with the Summer School, it was very random and imaginative!
The show included sailing with the Goldrush and the Calamity Crew as they raced against each other to find the special Diamond Fruit that could only be found at the top of the Poo Tree on Stinky Island. They sailed through the rocky waters of Boogie River and had to out-smart the deadly Sea Monkeys in the quest to give Captain Copperstone the gift of immortal life.
The children had the chance to learn new skills, gain confidence and independence and make new friends.
Useful Vision would like to thank our volunteers, Celebration Station & Big Little Gigs for all their help during the week, Bensham Grove Community Centre for the use of their facilities, Rob Irish for photography and The Readman Family Grassroots Fund at The Community Foundation for kindly funding this activity.
