Trips Out

Useful Vision visit York!

Useful Vision families enjoyed a coach trip to York and took part in different workshops throughout the day and a bit of free time to do some souvenir shopping.

Included in the trip were the following  activities.

The Chocolate Story

Led by a professional tour guide, families discover the origins of chocolate, about how it’s produced, and uncovered some surprising secrets behind York’s greatest chocolate products.

The chocolate tour included having a cheeky taste of the produce!

Chocolate workshop

The workshop explored packaging design of some of York’s most iconic confectionery products to uncover the secret to their success.

The history of the chocolate truffle was explained to the families. Followed by them having a go at making some by hand and design a unique box of bespoke truffles.

Jorvik

Children dug deep down (in synthetic, no mess soil) to discover artefacts from the four major periods of York’s fascinating history. An Archaeologist was on hand to answer questions on their  finds & help   piece together what it would have been like to live in past.

The day also included a Buffet lunch.
