Gain confidence and independence through this jam-packed day trip to Cullercoats! Try kayaking and paddleboarding, followed by fish and chips on the beach. 

Please bring shoes that can be worn in water, wetsuits will be provided.

Optional: Travel via Metro with the Useful Vision team from St James’ Newcastle at 3.15pm.

Get creative in the kitchen with Nourish Food School! Based in the cultural hub of the Ouseburn Valley, we will be working with fresh ingredients to come up with your own recipe & developing your intuitive eating skills. The kitchen will be equipped with specialist VI cooking equipment. Afterwards, we’ll have a picnic in the park to enjoy our culinary creations.

Get ready for a wilderness adventure with Useful Vision! You’ll learn to survive the elements with a day of orienteering, shelter building and wild cooking. Bring your wellies and a packed lunch to enjoy in the woods. There is free parking onsite.

The Calvert Trust have over 40 years experience in delivering thrilling breaks for disabled children & adults at the stunning Kielder reservoir. Come with us for a two-hour canoeing session, followed by an archery lesson and a 20mph rip-roaring adventure on the Zipcoaster – which mimics the ups, downs, twists, and turns of a rollercoaster! Car parking onsite, fully accessible, and please bring a packed lunch. Age 8+.

Speed of Sight is a driving experience like no other! We are delighted to offer our Visually Impaired young people a thrilling race track session at Teesside Auto drome. Each participant will be given a 1 hour slot, with 20 minutes of driving time. Drivers will be supported by instructors and must wear safety harnesses and helmets which are provided.

You are advised to wear warm clothing.

Parents, carers and siblings are welcome to watch and are allowed in the pit lane to take photos before and after the drive but are not allowed to stay in the lane when cars are moving.

This event is exclusively for VI Children.

Booking is essential. Names will be put on to a list and spaces allocated at a later date. Priority will be given to children who have not accessed this event before. You will all be informed whether or not you have a space.

Get ready for an action-packed adventure at Tees Barrage! Conquer wobbly bridges, crazy cargo nets, and swinging stepping stones over 18 metres high with the Airtrail, Then, make a splash building a raft, and try canoeing and kayaking.

Please bring a packed lunch. There is indoor and outdoor space to enjoy this.

Wear a swimming costume and clothing you do not mind getting wet. Please wear suitable clothing for the activities – no dresses or skirts.

Participants must be over 1m tall for the Air Trail and age 10+ for the water sports.

Come and join Martin from Animate 2 Educate Ltd for a fun filled digital art session. You will be able to develop a wide range of digital art skills and create your own masterpiece which will then be shared in a virtual art gallery.

All you need to take part is either a desktop computer, laptop or tablet and an internet connection.
