Squat Challenge Smash Raises £230 for Useful Vision

Useful Vision would love to shout about the incredible fundraising efforts of Sophie Brown! In February, Sophie took on the challenge of doing 100 squats a day for 30 days, totalling a whopping 3,000 squats. Sophie chose to fundraise for us as part of her Miss United Kingdom Dreams UK pageant bid. She absolutely smashed her target and raised a fantastic £230 for Useful Vision.

At the Dreams UK final in March 2022, Sophie came home with the crown and she has the opportunity to compete in the USA next year. We would like to extend a huge congratulations to Sophie for her well-deserved win!

‘My fundraising experience has been challenging but worth it. I am thrilled with all the support and happy to have managed to fundraise more than my target. I hope to continue in future to set myself more challenges to fundraise for Useful Vision and enable children with a visual impairment to have even more fun days out’ – Sophie Brown

‘Useful Vision is a cause very very close to my heart’ said Sophie, ‘as many of you will know Frankie is visually impaired.’ Sophie’s son Frankie joined Useful Vision at only 14 months, and she has already supported us so much with this amazing challenge. We can’t wait to welcome Sophie, Frankie and family to a Useful Vision activity soon, so they can experience the results of her dedicated fundraising efforts.

As you may know, we are reliant on grants and the efforts of fundraising to deliver our jam-packed, accessible program of events. Every penny Sophie has raised will go towards enriching lives of visually impaired children across the North-East.

We welcome all fundraising ideas and we’re here to support you every step of the way! Get in touch at: office@usefulvision.org.uk
